Paint the bathroom walls a beach-inspired color to set the tone for the seashell decor theme. Choose a light turquoise or sea foam shade, reminiscent of ocean water, or sandy taupe as a neutral option. Hang a seashell-patterned wallpaper border by measuring the walls with a tape measure and cutting strips of border to fit. Apply wallpaper paste to the back of the border with a paintbrush and begin attaching the border to the wall, directly under the ceiling, working from one corner to the other. Go over the hung border with a seam roller to ensure a smooth application.
Hang a seashell-patterned shower curtain, which will become the bathroom's focal point. Choose an elegant-looking curtain featuring a turquoise- or sea foam-colored background and white conch shell, scallop, starfish and sand dollar designs. Suspend the shower curtain from seashell-shaped hooks.
Decorate with seashell-inspired textiles. Fold turquoise- or sea foam-colored towels featuring embroidered seashell details over wall racks or on white wicker shelves. Place a white or cream seashell-shaped bath mat in front of the tub or shower.
Hang a seashell-decorated mirror over the sink or vanity. Make your own mirror by using hot glue to attach small seashells around the perimeter of a wood-framed mirror.
Enhance a plain bathroom wall with authentic beach house-inspired decor. Hang fisherman's netting from nails and insert starfish and seashells into the holes. Fill a large, clear glass candle holder with seashells and sea glass, and nestle a pillar candle inside.
